Lab-Grown Meat Has FDA Approval — Nobody Asked the Part of Your Brain That Knows the Difference

chicken — meat grown from animal cells in bioreactor facilities,

without slaughter — for human consumption in the United States.

UPSIDE Foods and GOOD Meat became the first companies authorized to

sell lab-grown animal protein commercially.

innovation, animal welfare. The Silicon Valley investment thesis — that this

technology can eventually scale to replace conventional animal agriculture —

was presented as the story.
