Forecast: Uncertainty with a Chance of Narrative Control

Forecasting used to be science.

Now it feels like interpretation.

Models shift. Predictions change. Explanations follow the outcome—not the cause. And somewhere in that loop, certainty dissolves.

But uncertainty has value.

It creates dependence.

When people can’t predict what’s coming, they rely more heavily on the voice that claims to know. Even when that voice changes daily.

April’s lens is simple:
Not everything that changes is natural.
Not everything that’s explained is complete.

Sometimes the forecast isn’t about weather at all.
It’s about control.
